Sustainability commitment

What Corp-Merch UAE does to reduce the environmental and social footprint of the solutions it delivers to UAE buyers: FSC-certified paper for all packaging, OEKO-TEX 100 minimum for all textiles, recycled options (rPET, recycled cotton) priced equivalent to standard, per-project carbon footprint (GHG Protocol Scope 1+2+3) free on request, local production reduces transport CO2 by 60-80% vs Asian imports, buyback / takeback programs, and alignment with UAE Net Zero 2050.

Corp-Merch UAE sustainability commitments

Corp-Merch UAE's sustainability commitment is rooted in the UAE Net Zero 2050 targets and in the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) guidance for importers and exporters. Six defined pillars form the operating commitment: (1) FSC-certified paper for all packaging, (2) OEKO-TEX 100 minimum for all skin-contact textiles, (3) recycled options (rPET and recycled cotton) priced equivalent to the standard options, (4) per-project carbon footprint calculation free on request, (5) local production reducing transport CO2 by 60-80% versus Asian imports, (6) buyback / takeback programs for unwanted inventory.

Alongside the six pillars, we ensure compliance with the UAE Federal Law No. 1 of 2019 on Anti-Human Trafficking and the UAE Federal Law No. 6 of 2023 on Single-Use Plastic Products. These obligations are applied across all partner factories, audited through amfori BSCI and Sedex SMETA 4-pillar, and refreshed annually.

FSC-certified packaging

FSC-certified packaging is the default standard for every Corp-Merch UAE output. This means every paper box, every wrapper, every wooden tag and every cork product used in our projects comes from sustainably-managed forests, with documented chain-of-custody from forest to factory to buyer. FSC mix and FSC 100% certifications are available, and the FSC claim is verifiable by the buyer's compliance team.

For UAE sustainability-conscious buyers (federal ministries, semi-government entities, hospitality groups) FSC 100% is added to the list of approved materials. For buyers operating under the Net Zero initiative (UAE national target), an additional package is added: renewable energy sourcing in manufacturing, waste-water management, and chain-of-custody tracking at the batch level.

OEKO-TEX 100 for all skin-contact textiles

OEKO-TEX 100 is the default standard for all skin-contact textiles (apparel, bags, backpacks, office accessories, and other close-contact office assets). Products are tested against the OEKO-TEX restricted-substance list and refreshed annually. This ensures the final product is safe for the end user and meets the requirements of the regulators that ask for it.

For buyers working with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Emirates Health Services (EHS), we hold additional requirements. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is available for organic cotton and organic/recycled blends, typically requested by ESG-conscious buyers.

Per-project carbon footprint calculation

Per-project carbon footprint calculation is available free on request. The calculation follows the GHG Protocol methodology — Scope 1 (direct emissions from production), Scope 2 (electricity emissions), and Scope 3 (supply-chain emissions including transport and raw materials). Data is extracted from the raw-material ledger and the gate-to-gate transport tagging, the calculation is edited in detail by the Corp-Merch UAE team in Dubai, and delivered to the buyer in PDF and iXBRL-tagged CSV.

For buyers operating under large ESG disclosure regimes, the calculation is delivered compatible with CSRD ESRS E1 and E5, with TCFD disclosures, with Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) disclosure requirements for UAE-licensed banks, and with the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) disclosure requirements for listed corporates.

Local production reduces transport

Local production within the UAE reduces transport CO2 by 60-80% versus Asian imports. This is a meaningful difference for buyers targeting the preservation of their carbon footprint. But local production is not always possible (large and specialised volumes cannot easily be absorbed), so regional production (Türkiye, South Asia, Europe) is the practical compromise that balances quality, cost, and environmental footprint.

For buyers that request local production, we offer local production at parity pricing (no price premium) on small to medium volumes. For buyers that request regional production, we offer a CO2 analysis per production option (local, regional, distant) to allow the buyer to make an informed decision.

Buyback / takeback program

The buyback / takeback program is available to buyers that hold unwanted inventory. Corp-Merch UAE takes the unwanted inventory, resells it or donates it to non-profit organisations in the UAE, or recycles it into raw materials usable in other projects. The program is available to UAE buyers that operate with large corporate warehouses.

The program includes: inventory collection, quick assessment for usable-versus-non-usable sorting, reporting on the total volume diverted to end-use, and an ESG certificate issued to the buyer documenting the total volume diverted and its environmental impact.

Frequently asked questions

Do you use FSC-certified paper across all packaging?

Yes — FSC-certified packaging is the default for every Corp-Merch UAE output. This covers paper boxes, wrappers, wooden tags, and cork products.

Do you provide per-project carbon footprint calculation?

Yes — per-project carbon footprint calculation is free on request, following the GHG Protocol Scope 1+2+3 methodology. Compatible with CSRD ESRS E1/E5, TCFD disclosures, and Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) disclosure requirements.

Do you offer rPET and recycled cotton options?

Yes — rPET and recycled cotton options are priced equivalent to the standard options. This makes the sustainability choice a commercially viable option without an additional cost.

Is local production within the UAE available?

Yes — for small to medium volumes. For larger volumes, regional production (Türkiye, South Asia, Europe) is the realistic compromise.

Do you support UAE Net Zero 2050?

Yes — all our practices are aligned with the UAE Net Zero 2050 targets, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE), and the local disclosure efforts.

Do you provide annual ESG reporting?

Yes — annual ESG reporting is available on request for each major buyer, compatible with CSRD ESRS E1/E5/S2/G1 disclosures.
