Holiday gift sets for New Year (Cyprus)
Festive holiday kits for Cyprus New Year — soy candle + praline box + mini Commandaria, deep evergreen box with gold ribbon, runs from 30 units, 10-day lead time.
Why a coordinated holiday kit beats a single New Year gift
Cyprus New Year gifting splits into two camps: the single branded item (a notebook, a pen, a chocolate) and the full kit. The single item feels transactional; the kit feels considered. A coordinated trio with a candle, a chocolate, and a Cypriot element (Commandaria, olive oil, or mountain-thyme honey) hits both the festive tone and the local-flavor brief. The kit also photographs better on the recipient’s Instagram story, which matters because the marketing team reuses those shots.
Typical run is the client list, 50–400 units per gifting cycle.
Models and materials that fit
Default pick is a coordinated trio: a 180 g soy-and-coconut candle in a clear-glass vessel with a gold-foil label (pine-and-eucalyptus scent), a 6-piece praline box from a Paphos chocolatier, and a 50 ml miniature bottle of Commandaria dessert wine. Mid-tier adds a kraft-covered A5 notebook with a printed company mark. Premium tier for VIP clients: a 250 ml copper-lid candle (60-hour burn), an 8-piece truffle box, a 187 ml bottle of Commandaria, and a small kraft-covered notebook. All ship in a two-piece rigid box in deep evergreen (28 × 22 × 10 cm) with a 15 mm gold satin ribbon.
Prints and branding approaches
The candle vessel carries a gold-foil wraparound label with the brand monogram and a small festive motif (a star or stylised fir). The chocolate box is unbranded. The Commandaria bottle carries a custom neck-label printed on the day with the company’s name and the New Year date (the wine label itself is regulated and we don’t touch it). The notebook carries a 4 × 4 cm hot-foil on the cover. Avoid printing the corporate mark on the chocolate — it reads as corporate swag and undermines the festive tone.
Bundling and packaging
Each kit ships in an individual two-piece rigid box in deep evergreen with a gold satin ribbon. Foam insert with three or four die-cut cells depending on the tier. Add a kraft belly band with a printed greeting (we typeset your message in English, Greek, or Russian) for €0.35 per unit. For the premium tier we add a foil-pressed gift tag with the recipient’s name and the company’s New Year message.
Runs, lead times, and budgets
Standard run starts at 30 units; the practical Christmas-volume range is 50–400 units per client. Lead time is 10 business days from artwork sign-off, locked at 14 calendar days before Christmas Eve for scheduled delivery. Pricing in EUR runs from €36–48 per unit for the default trio at 50 units, dropping to €30–40 at 200+; mid-tier with notebook sits at €48–62 per unit; premium tier sits at €68–88 per unit.
Cyprus context
Limassol finance is the largest volume — most international firms place a New Year order in early November for late-December delivery. Nicosia public sector rarely buys. Paphos boutique hospitality uses smaller premium runs (50–80 units) for partner and travel-trade gifts. The Russian-speaking professional community also places a separate gift for Orthodox Christmas (7 January) — we run the same kit SKU with a Cyrillic foil label and a 7 January gift tag.
Frequently asked questions
Which scent reads as festive without skewing Orthodox or secular?
Pine, eucalyptus, orange-and-clove, and bergamot-and-amber are the four profiles that work across both Greek and Russian-speaking Cyprus recipients. Avoid lavender (reads as summer), pure vanilla (reads as year-round, not festive), and frankincense alone (reads as Orthodox-only). The pine-and-eucalyptus blend tends to be the safest pick for mixed recipient lists.
How late can we sign off and still hit pre-Christmas delivery?
For 100 units or fewer, artwork sign-off by 12 December gets you a Limassol delivery by 19 December and Nicosia/Larnaca by 20 December. For 100–400 units, push sign-off to 5 December. We close the year-end production calendar on 14 December to give the courier network room to clear the island.
Can we do a separate Orthodox Christmas run on 7 January?
Yes — most of our Russian-speaking clients place a parallel small order (30–80 units) for Orthodox Christmas using the same kit SKU with a Cyrillic foil label and a 7 January gift tag. We pour and label in the same production batch in late December, then ship on 30 December for storage at your office until 5–6 January delivery.
Can we drop the wine for a Muslim or government-protocol recipient?
Yes — substitute the Commandaria for a 100 ml bottle of extra-virgin olive oil from a Krasochoria producer (no uplift) or a 50 g Cypriot mountain-thyme honey tin (no uplift). Both fit the same foam insert without dimensional change. We track the substitution per recipient on a spreadsheet you supply with the order.
Can we add a personalised name tag to each kit?
Yes — we foil-press a 70 × 30 mm gift tag with the recipient’s name and the company’s New Year message, attached to the box with a satin ribbon loop. Add €0.85 per unit if names come pre-formatted in a spreadsheet, €1.40 if we transcribe. For runs under 30 units we handwrite the names directly on the tag in gold or silver ink, no setup charge.
Is the kit safe for air freight to a non-EU office?
Yes for the candle and chocolate (under IATA Class 9 limits), and yes for the wine with the standard dangerous goods declaration. We ship to the UK, Switzerland, and the UAE routinely in December; allow 5–7 days for road/sea freight and 10–14 days for sea-only. Air freight is possible with the dangerous goods declaration, which we add at €1.80 per kg.
