Kataklysmos is the Cypriot Pentecost festival
Kataklysmos (literally "the Flood") is the Cypriot version of the Greek Orthodox Pentecost and a uniquely Cypriot cultural festival. Celebrated on the day after Pentecost (movable, between late May and late June), Kataklysmos features folk dancing, traditional music, water-throwing games, and the singing of the traditional Cyprus folk song "Attis apopein".
